Dear Clients,
We sent out a letter to all clients on March 12th detailing our response to the current COVID-19 global pandemic. Due to recent school closings and other rapidly changing events and directives from government agencies we are updating our firm’s response plan. Beginning March 17th we are allowing all staff to work remotely and as a result, will be available in person by appointment only and therefore the office will be closed to the public. We are asking everyone to make every effort possible to work with us remotely. We are here to walk you through doing so and will continue to answer all calls during normal business hours: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM and Saturday 8AM-12PM. We feel this is the socially responsible approach to take for our staff, clients, and the community. Please be mindful that many of our staff have school-aged children and will require some flexibility.
We expect no delay in the process of your tax returns and other engagements. We have several means of working with you remotely at our disposal including via telephone, US mail, or our secure document exchange and a messaging portal called Liscio. Please do not hesitate to call. We are here for all of our clients and remain committed to filing tax returns on time as we know many clients are expecting and will need, their tax refunds. If business must be conducted in person please call and we will discuss other possible options, however, we will make every effort to work remotely first.
I want to reiterate that we have made the necessary investments in technology over the years to conduct all business remotely if need be. We have several clients around the country who already work with us this way. For instance:
We know that some clients are uncomfortable working this way, but we ask for your support in working with us through this unprecedented global health crisis.
To Reiterate: If you have any questions or need anything at all please do not hesitate to call or message us. We are here for you through this crisis and remain committed to working WITHOUT INTERRUPTION on your tax returns and all other engagements. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, however, in order to keep our commitment we as staff must remain healthy and take the necessary precautions to also protect our clients and community members.
We will be in touch with any information from the IRS or State Departments of Revenue regarding this filing season. Stay safe, and healthy.
Sincerely,
The team at Rust & Company, CPAs
